Norsk Hydro ASA has withdrawn from the acquisition process for Rio Tinto's Icelandic aluminium plant ISAL. As previously reported, Hydro made a binding offer to acquire the plant in February. According to a statement released today, the decision is due to the fact that the European Commission (EC) competition approval process has taken longer than anticipated.
