  • European Energy has inaugurated the Lancaster Solar Farm in northern Victoria, adding new operational capacity to its renewable energy portfolio in Australia.
  • Electricity from the project will be supplied to Apple under a long-term power purchase agreement.
  • European Energy continues to expand in the Australian market, with approximately 10 GW of solar, onshore wind and battery projects under development and additional solar parks expected to come online in 2026.

European Energy has inaugurated the 108 MW Lancaster Solar Farm in the state of Victoria in Australia, further expanding the company’s renewable energy portfolio in the country. The inauguration took place during the Danish Royal Couple’s State Visit to Australia.

The solar park comprises approximately 170,000 solar panels and will supply renewable electricity to Apple under a long-term power purchase agreement. The project adds new operational capacity to European Energy’s growing Australian portfolio of renewable energy assets, which has secured long-term offtake agreements and project financing.

Representatives from European Energy attended the opening together with local stakeholders and members of the Yorta Yorta community, the First Nations Traditional Custodians of the land.

“The Lancaster Solar Farm adds operational capacity to European Energy’s Australian portfolio and reflects the continued progress of the company’s development pipeline,” said Catriona McLeod, Country Manager for Australia at European Energy.

“Australia offers strong fundamentals for renewable energy investment, supported by growing corporate demand and a supportive regulatory framework.”

Australia is a priority market for European Energy. In 2025, the company secured multiple long-term power purchase agreements with global corporate offtakers and obtained project financing for solar developments in the country. European Energy also received development approval for a 1.1 GW renewable energy project, further strengthening its Australian project pipeline.

“The Lancaster Solar Farm adds further scale to European Energy’s activities in Australia and reflects the company’s strategy of expanding its renewable energy portfolio in markets with strong demand for clean electricity,” said Knud Erik Andersen, CEO of European Energy.

“Australia is developing quickly as a renewable energy market, and European Energy continues to build a project pipeline supported by long-term power purchase agreements and partnerships with corporate offtakers.”

European Energy currently has a development pipeline of approximately 10 GW of solar, onshore wind and battery storage projects in Australia.

Winton North Solar Farm is currently under construction, while the Mulwala Solar Farm has completed construction and is in commissioning, close to energisation. Both projects are located within 90 minutes of the Lancaster site. Additional projects are progressing towards construction and are expected to become operational in 2026, further expanding European Energy’s operational portfolio in the country.
