JSC "TENEX" strengthens cooperation with Finnish partners

On the 21th of June 2017, within the framework of the business program of the IX International Forum ATOMEXPO-2017, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the CEO of JSC "TENEX " (the company) Mrs. Lyudmila M. Zalimskaya, the CEO of A-Insinoorit Oy, the parent company of Saanio & Riekkola Oy, Mr. Jyrki Kein?nen and Vice-President of sales and business development of VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd Mr. Mika Toikka.

The document supports preparation of joint competitive offers for potential customers for developing of final disposal of radioactive waste. Other important areas of cooperation between the Companies in the back-end of the nuclear fuel cycle will be the issues of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) management, including the design and construction of an interim storage facilities for SNF, containers for SNF reprocessing products and their further disposal.

Its successful implementation, I am sure, will encourage further development of the partnership in mutual interest areas," – CEO of JSC "TENEX " L. M. Zalimskaya commented at the signing of the Memorandum.

Technical Research Center of Finland (VTT) – a Research Institute, established in 1943 as a part of the structure of the Ministry of Employment and Economy of Finland. VTT participates in the project of building a Finnish facility for the final isolation of radioactive waste and ensures running the appropriate R & D on the various aspects of safety: nuclear, radioactive, and biological.

ATOMEXPO-2017 IX International Forum in Moscow has gathered 6.5 thousand participants from 65 countries, including Russia and four countries that take part in the Forum for the first time: Colombia, Sudan, Sri-Lanka and Ethiopia. The Forum is attended by 33 official governmental delegations from different countries of the world, as well as 100 companies from the global nuclear industry and associated industries. The business program of the Forum envisages 13 round tables on relevant topics. The main theme of the Forum this year is Nuclear Technologies: Safety, Environment, and Sustainability".
