Iberdrola, through its US subsidiary Avangrid, has signed an extension of the long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) it already had with the US company CPS Energy. This agreement covers the purchase of almost 80% of the clean energy generated at the Peñascal onshore wind farm in Texas, approximately 161 MW.
In this way, CPS Energy, the largest community provider of electricity and natural gas services in the country, can supply clean energy to some 41,000 homes in Texas and thus advances with its CPS Energy's Vision 2027 plan, which contemplates the retirement of 2,249 MW of conventional electricity generation before 2030.
