GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) announced today that it has signed an agreement with Prokon Regenerative Energien eG to repower a wind farm with eight 6MW-164m turbines produced at its factory in Salzbergen, Germany. The deal was booked in the second quarter of 2025. The workhorse turbines will be installed in the Fleetmark community in Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany.

Repowering existing sites produces more power from current wind farms, strengthening their ability to meet local energy needs in a sustainable manner. With our industrial footprint in Salzbergen, we are well positioned to serve our customer´s needs to grow Germany’s onshore wind power production.”

GE Vernova’s Wind segment has a strong manufacturing presence in Germany with a 70,000 square meter facility in Salzbergen that manufactures machine heads, drive trains, and hubs for the workhorse turbines it provides to customers in Germany and elsewhere in Europe and Asia.
Germany installed approximately 3.2 GW of onshore wind in 2024 and is expected to accelerate the development of onshore wind as part of its plan to get up to 80 percent of its power from renewable energy resources by 2030.
