EVSI and Nikola Motor Company Team Up at Advanced Naval Technology Exercise to Charge Tactical Vehicles Off-Grid

Envision Solar International, Inc., (EVSI) the leading renewably energized EV charging, outdoor media and energy security products company, is charging the Nikola NZT a tactical Electric Vehicle at the Advanced Naval Technology Exercise (ANTX) at the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base in Southern California.

The EV ARC™ unit is providing an off-grid source of power in a remote area for the exercise, allowing tactical Electric Vehicles and other essential equipment to operate over an extended period of time and away from utility grid infrastructure, thus simulating a typical forward operating environment. EV ARC™ units replace diesel or gasoline generators and as such the tactical EVs will continue to operate without any requirement to deliver fuels to dangerous or remote locations. EV ARC™ products run silent and do not give off the heat signature generally associated with internal combustion engine generators.

General Robert Neller stated that what Marines really need "is a way to recharge batteries-or maintain a sort of expeditionary power capability that doesn't cause me to pull a wagon or something."

Envision Solar's EV ARC™ product is rapidly deployed and is currently providing fuel for tactical vehicles at the exercise. It is also equipped with emergency power panels and 3 phase connectors to provide a source of off grid, highly reliable power in any location where it can see the sky.

The US Secretary of the Navy has announced a goal to receive 50% of the energy the navy consumes come from alternative sources by 2020.

The pairing of the EV ARC™ and the Nikola Reckless is a glimpse into the future of expeditionary warfare. Both the EV ARC™ and the Reckless are silent, powerful and sit on the cutting edge of their respective industries.

Invented and manufactured in California, the patented EV ARC™ fits inside a parking space, but does not reduce available parking, and generates enough clean solar electricity to power up to 225 miles of EV driving in a day. The system's solar electrical generation is enhanced by EnvisionTrak™ which causes the array to follow the sun, generating up to 25% more electricity than a fixed array. The energy is stored in the EV ARC™ product's energy storage for charging day or night, and to provide emergency power during grid failure. Because the EV ARC™ product requires no trenching, foundations or installation work of any kind, it is deployed in minutes and can be moved to a new location with ease. EV ARC™ products are manufactured in the company's San Diego facility by combat veterans, individuals with disabilities, and other minority demographics and highly talented, mission-driven team members.
