Gemma Power Systems Wins Contract to Build Exelon West Medway II Simple Cycle Power Plant

Gemma Power Systems, LLC (GPS) has received a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) to commence activities under a Turnkey Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contract with Exelon West Medway II, LLC for a 200 MW dual-fuel Simple Cycle Power Plant in Medway, Massachusetts. The Full Notice to Proceed (FNTP) is contingent upon Exelon receiving all Massachusetts regulatory approvals for the project.

Exelon West Medway II, LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Exelon Generation Company, LLC and Exelon Corporation, the nation’s leading competitive energy provider based in Chicago, Illinois. The contract value is approximately $100 million.

The new facility will be constructed on a 70-acre site adjacent to Exelon’s existing 173 MW Medway Generating Station and will feature two 100 MW General Electric LMS100 combustion turbine generators. Construction and commissioning is planned to be complete in the second quarter of 2018.
