Technology group Wärtsilä has signed a shared operation & maintenance (O&M) agreement to support the reliable power supply on the Indonesian island of Lombok. Lombok is a popular tourist destination, which relies on the local power plant to ensure the availability of electricity. Wärtsilä’s vast experience in O&M is considered a critical asset in delivering the reliability required to meet the island’s energy demands.
The 30-month agreement has been signed with PT PLN Nusantara Power Services. It covers a 138 MW power plant operating with 13 Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines and a steam turbine generator. The agreement was booked as order intake by Wärtsilä in Q3 2025.
“This plant is the first combined cycle gas engine power plant in Indonesia. About 60 percent of Lombok’s island grid is supplied by this plant, which indicates the importance of having it operating as efficiently and reliably as possible,” says Mr Jakfar Sadiq, President Director of PT PLN Nusantara Power Services.
Wärtsilä shared O&M solutions are tailored for the facility. With a join effort from Wärtsilä and PT PLN Nusantara Power Service, the solution will support the achievement of the plant’s productivity and performance goals and enhance the development of the local staff’s operational competence.

The PT PLN Nusantara Power Service group company has a long-term relationship with Wärtsilä, having installed multiple power plant facilities running with Wärtsilä generating equipment.
