Sumitomo Electric Industries, has recently supplied a redox flow battery that has a rated output of 125 kW to Taiwan Power Research Institute.

Taiwan has actively been promoting solar power generation and wind power generation with an aim to increase the ratio of renewable energy to the total power generation to 20% in 2025. Taiwan Power Research Institute has drawn up demonstration experiments for smoothing renewable energy generation and controlling peak power demand. To successfully achieve these goals, the institute decided to introduce Sumitomo Electric’s redox flow battery in May 2016, and in February 2017, the battery was installed on the premises of the institute. Sumitomo Electric will continue to support the demonstration experiments of the institute.
