The Nordex Group, in collaboration with its partner Consolis, celebrated the inauguration of its new hybrid tower production facility in Riga, Latvia. The event gathered around 100 guests, including representatives from local authorities, the energy sector, and industry partners.
The event began with welcoming remarks from Eduard van der Meer (CEO CONSOLIS GROUP), and Esa Maki (MD CONSOLIS Baltics), Vita Paulane (Ropaži Municipality), Kasper Melnis (Climate and Energy Minister), Jurgis Miezainis (Secretary of Ministry of Economics) Martinš Cakste (LATVENERGO), and Javier Álvarez (VP Hybrid Towers NORDEX GROUP). Guests were then invited on a guided tour of the facility and introduced to the key production processes.
The existing precast factory of Consolis in Riga has been upgraded and adapted to produce the keystones that will form part of the wind turbines for Laflora, the country’s first hybrid tower project. The 109 MW project will comprise 16 N175/6.X turbines with hub heights of 179 meters.
