Trinasolar, a global leader in smart PV and energy storage solutions, has received the Green Supply Chain Leadership Award from Bureau Veritas at the Green Sustainability Summit in Shanghai. This accolade comes in recognition of Trinasolar’s commitment to integrating environmental principles throughout its solar tracker supply chain. Using innovative technologies, the company has worked hard to improve resource efficiency and minimise environmental impact, with these approaches helping to facilitate the green transformation of both upstream and downstream companies, and improve sustainable practices in the PV industry.
Bureau Veritas is a globally recognised provider of testing, inspection and certification services, and acts as an accredited verifier for the United Nations Clean Development Mechanism and the European Carbon Emissions Trading System.
TrinaTracker, a business unit of Trinasolar and one of the world’s leading providers of smart solar tracking solutions, has pioneered a low-carbon system which focuses on reducing emissions in its internal operations, while helping its supply chain partners do the same. This feeds into Trinasolar’s wider commitment to a low-carbon approach that encompasses all of its operations, products and value chain. The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality across its global operations by 2030.
Wu Xiao, Head of Risk Control and ESG Management at Trinasolar, said: “We are honoured to receive this award from Bureau Veritas, which is an acknowledgement of our achievements in reducing carbon emissions and our efforts to help our supply chain to do the same.
“As one of the company’s core business areas, our smart tracking solutions play an integral role in our work with upstream and downstream partners to promote low-carbon initiatives and drive green transformation. The work we have done in this respect will improve Trinasolar’s global competitiveness while helping build a robust, ESG-driven global ecosystem in our industry.”
