KBR Awarded Contract For Refinery Debottlenecking Project In Saudi Arabia

KBR, Inc. announced today it has been awarded a contract by SATORP (a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Total) to debottleneck Train 2 of its existing 440,000 barrels per day refinery in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).  The debottlenecking project is expected to increase the original refinery's throughput by 15% once completed in August 2020.

"We value the partnership we have with SATORP which has been built on KBR's strong delivery track record," said Jay Ibrahim, KBR President, Hydrocarbons – Energy Services.  "This award signifies SATORP's trust in KBR to deliver this schedule critical project to support the upcoming major refinery turnaround in 2020."

China based Wison Engineering has been appointed by KBR as their subcontractor on this project.

"We have been impressed with Wison's experience in executing similar sized debottlenecking projects in KSA, which have all been completed ahead of schedule but more importantly safely, with zero lost time incidents," said Ibrahim.
