Gazprom To purchase Siemens Equipment for Grozny TPP

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Joe Kaeser, President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens, took place in St. Petersburg today.

The parties discussed ongoing and future cooperation, paying particular attention to the provision of equipment for the Grozny TPP. According to the signed contract, Siemens will ship, install and put into operation two gas turbines with a total capacity of up to 360 MW for the TPP. It is planned to bring the facility onstream in 2019.

Alexey Miller and Joe Kaeser noted the importance of the Grozny TPP construction project for the Chechen Republic. The new plant will, inter alia, fill the gap in power generation, provide reliable electricity supplies to consumers, and expand the gas sales market.
