SENER participates in Wind Europe 2019, the international trade fair and conference which will be held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Bilbao (Spain) from the 2nd to the 4th of April.
At this event, SENER will showcase its offshore wind energy engineering expertise and technology: the group can provide design and project support services for developers, as well as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) scope of works, to deliver turnkey projects, or engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services. In terms of technology solutions, thanks to its multi-disciplinary technological capacities, construction experience and culture of innovation, SENER is dedicating a significant part of its R&D investment to develop solutions which may reduce the costs for future floating offshore wind farms with turbines’ increased power.
SENER boasts considerable experience in renewable energies and construction projects, and spearheads this sector as a global, leading company in solar thermal power (in both parabolic trough solar thermal plants with thermal storage and in central tower plants with molten salt receiver and heliostat field with thermal storage); photovoltaic-solar thermoelectric hybrid plants where SENER has its own photovoltaic tracker product, namely SENER PV tracker; high efficiency municipal solid waste (MSW) recovery plants; high efficiency biomass plants; offshore wind and wave energy power plants. SENER is currently ranked top in terms of global technological breakthroughs, participating in and spearheading some of the most cutting-edge power plants in the world, such as Gemasolar or Noor Ouarzazate III, designing and implementing proprietary solutions patented by SENER in biomass plants for ENCE and municipal solid waste treatment, such as Zabalgarbi waste-to-energy power plant.
This experience matches SENER's outstanding contribution to the field of Marine engineering, where it designs all types of offshore platforms with its integrated CAD/CAM/CAE FORAN System, one of the most widely commercialized on the world market.
It is well worth mentioning that SENER made its first steps in wind energy in the 1980s, when it designed and built one of the first wind generators installed in Spain, namely in Tarifa. In fact, it is the sector of renewable energies that best reflects SENER's highest level of innovative, technological expertise and progress. Furthermore, SENER engages in the entire value chain, from the conception and development phases of new patented technology and processes to the engineering, construction and subsequent operating stages, and finally the development, promotion, and investment, in the majority of cases, through its Energy Area, alongside companies in which it holds shares, such as Torresol Energy.
