Cenergy Power, a leading solar power engineering, procurement and construction firm in the U.S. is pleased to announce that it has been selected to engineer and build utility scale solar photovoltaic projects for two (2) prominent generation and transmission ("G&T") electric cooperatives in the U.S.: Arizona Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. ("AEPCO") and Hoosier Energy Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. The combined 5 projects total 7.9 megawatt peak (MWp) of solar power capacity.
The AEPCO project is a fixed ground-mounted system sized at 2.7 MWp and will be sited in Anza, CA. The Hoosier Energy projects are comprised of four (4) single-axis tracking ground mounted solar systems totaling 5.2 MWp. These projects are distributed throughout the southern half of Indiana.
Collectively, the projects are forecasted to produce at least 14,200,000 kWh of solar energy in their first year of operation, which is the carbon equivalent of an average passenger vehicle not driving 23,313,391 miles in the same period. "AEPCO and Hoosier Energy are both highly respected electric cooperatives with distribution affiliates delivering electricity to about 1,000,000 people and we feel very fortunate to be selected as their solar and clean energy partner on these projects," stated Andrew Goldin, Sr. Vice President of EPC Operations for Cenergy Power.
